Hintyr's Export Wizard walks you through building production packages with documents, load files, manifests, and optional reports. Choose your document format, apply Bates numbering, organize by custodian, and grant discovery access, all in one guided workflow.
What is a document production
A production is a formal document package prepared in response to a discovery request. Opposing counsel or a regulatory body asks for documents, and your team gathers the responsive files, applies redactions and Bates numbers as needed, and delivers them as a structured archive. Hintyr automates this through the Export Wizard, which walks you through selecting documents, configuring options, and generating downloadable production sets.
Each production can include the documents themselves (original format or with Bates stamps and redactions), load files with per-document metadata, a manifest summarizing the contents, and extracted text files. You can also grant discovery users direct access through the Discovery Portal.
How the production Export Wizard works
The Export Wizard is a multi-step dialog that covers every aspect of building a production. Open it by going to your case and selecting Production Export from the case menu. You'll see sections for query criteria, archive options, Bates numbering, custodian assignment, discovery access, and reports. After you submit, Hintyr processes the export in the background so you can keep working.
- Query - Select which documents to include using filter criteria based on metadata, dates, file types, tags, and custodians.
- Options - Set the production name, choose a document format, configure batch size, and toggle load file, manifest, and extracted text options.
- Bates - Optionally apply Bates numbering with your preferred prefix, suffix, position, and typography settings.
- Custodians - Configure how custodian assignments are handled in the exported documents.
- Discovery Access - Grant discovery users permission to view and download the production.
- Reports - Include load files and manifests with your production.
