Hintyr's AI agent is built into every case. You ask questions in plain language, and the agent searches your uploaded documents, returns answers with citations to specific source pages, and handles review tasks like tagging, redaction, and Bates numbering. Unlike general-purpose chat tools, the agent operates directly on your case data and connects to the document viewer, so every finding is one click from its source.
What the document review AI agent does
The AI agent lives inside every case you create in Hintyr. It searches across your case documents to find relevant information and identify relationships between files. You ask questions in plain language, and the agent returns answers with citations to the specific files and pages it relied on so you can verify its work. Because it brings research, organization, and production tasks into one conversational panel, you spend less time switching between search bars, filters, and menus.
Beyond answering questions, the AI agent acts at your direction. It organizes documents with tags and custodians, marks privilege designations, identifies and prepares redactions for your review, applies Bates numbers, and generates production exports. Every action is logged, and destructive operations like redaction require your explicit confirmation before anything is applied. The agent is a research aid, not a decision-maker. It helps you find, organize, and produce materials, but you remain responsible for verifying the accuracy and completeness of all outputs before relying on them in any legal proceeding.
Key AI agent capabilities
The AI agent supports a range of tasks across the document review workflow. Here is what you can accomplish through the agent panel:
- AI research and analysis - Ask questions about your documents and get detailed answers with source citations.
- Search - Find files and information across your entire case using natural language.
- Redaction - Identify sensitive content and propose redactions, subject to mandatory human review before application.
- Bates numbering - Apply sequential identifiers to documents for production.
- Case organization - Create and manage tags, custodians, and privilege designations.
- Production exports - Generate formal document production packages.
- AI citations - Every response includes clickable references to source documents for verification.
How to access the AI agent
The AI agent panel sits on the right side of the case page. When you open any case, you see the agent panel with a text input at the bottom. Type your question or command and press Enter to send it. The agent streams its output in real time as it works through your documents. Response times vary depending on case size and request complexity.
You can interact with the AI agent at any time while working in the case. Browse documents in the left panel, view files in the center panel, and ask the agent questions or give it commands in the right panel. All three panels work together. Clicking a citation in the agent response opens the referenced document in the viewer.
Every team member with case access can use the AI agent. Conversations are personal to each user, but case memory is shared across the team. Findings one person discovers are available to everyone.
