Account and billing issues range from login problems and expired invitations to subscription questions. Most can be resolved through Account Settings or by contacting your organization administrator.
Cannot log in to your Hintyr account
If you can't sign in, work through these steps:
- Verify your email address. Make sure you're entering the exact email you used when creating your account or accepting the invitation.
- Try the password reset flow. If you sign in with email and password, use the "Forgot password" link on the login page to reset your credentials.
- Check your sign-in method. If you signed up with Google or Microsoft, make sure you're clicking the same provider button on the login page. A different method won't find your existing account.
- Clear browser cookies. Stale session data can prevent login. Clear cookies for the Hintyr domain and try again.
Invitation expired or never received
If the invitation link no longer works, or the email never arrived:
- Invitations expire after 30 days. If it has expired, ask your organization administrator to resend it from Settings > Members.
- Check spam and junk folders. Invitation emails can be filtered by email providers. Search your spam folder for emails from Hintyr.
- Verify the email address. Confirm with your administrator that the invitation was sent to the correct email address.
Cannot access admin-only account settings
If you can't see or access tabs like Members, Plan, or Billing:
- Admin-only tabs. The Members, Plan, and Billing tabs in Account Settings are only visible to organization administrators. Regular members do not have access to these sections.
- Contact your admin. If you need access to admin features, ask your organization administrator to change your role. Only an existing admin can promote another member to the admin role.
Billing and subscription troubleshooting
Organization administrators handle all billing and subscription management in Account Settings:
- View invoices and payment history. Go to Settings > Billing to see all past invoices, update your payment method, and apply promotion codes.
- Change your plan. Visit Settings > Plan to view available plans, upgrade, or downgrade your subscription.
- Payment failures. If a payment fails, update your payment method in Settings > Billing. Your account stays active during a short grace period while the issue is resolved.
- Cancellation. To cancel your subscription, go to Settings > Plan. Your data remains accessible through the end of the current billing period.
Frequently asked questions
How do I change my Hintyr email address?
Update your email address in Account Settings under the Account tab. If you signed in with a social provider, your email is managed by that provider and can't be changed in Hintyr directly.
Can I belong to multiple organizations?
Yes. A single Hintyr account can be a member of multiple organizations. You can switch between organizations from the organization selector in the top navigation.
What happens to my data if I cancel my subscription?
Your data remains accessible through the end of the current billing period. After it ends, your cases and files are retained for a grace period before permanent deletion.
How do I transfer organization ownership?
The current owner can transfer ownership to another admin from Settings > Members. Contact Hintyr support if the current owner is unavailable.
