What you can do in the Account tab

The Account tab is your single entry point for managing Hintyr account security. When you click Manage account, a secure dialog opens. From there you can change your password, enable or disable two-factor authentication, and review your connected sign-in methods (such as Google or email/password).

Updating your password

If you signed up with email and password, you can update your password from the account management dialog. You'll need to enter your current password before setting a new one. Signed up with Google? You can still add a password as a secondary sign-in method.

Two-factor authentication

For added security, enable two-factor authentication (2FA) from the account management dialog. Once enabled, you'll be prompted for a verification code each time you sign in. Hintyr supports authenticator apps that generate time-based one-time passwords (TOTP).

Connected sign-in methods

The account management dialog shows which sign-in methods are linked to your account. You can connect new providers or remove existing ones, as long as at least one active method remains. This is useful if you originally signed up with Google and later want to add an email/password option, or the other way around.

Permissions

The Account tab is available to every Hintyr user. You manage your own credentials independently. Organization administrators cannot change another member's password or authentication settings.

Frequently asked questions

How do I reset my password if I forgot it?
On the sign-in page, click "Forgot password?" and follow the email instructions to reset your password. You do not need to be signed in to use this flow.
Can an admin reset another member's password?
No. Each user manages their own credentials. If a team member is locked out, they should use the "Forgot password?" flow on the sign-in page.
Which authenticator apps are supported for 2FA?
Any authenticator app that supports time-based one-time passwords (TOTP) works with Hintyr. Popular options include Google Authenticator, Authy, and 1Password.
Can I remove my only sign-in method?
No. You must always have at least one active sign-in method. To switch from Google to email/password (or vice versa), add the new method first, then remove the old one.
