Inclusive Email

Last updated: 2026-05-16

An inclusive email is the most complete copy of a thread, one that contains earlier replies as quoted text. During email dedup, Hintyr keeps the inclusive email visible and hides redundant earlier copies from the review surface. The hidden copies remain in the case database; only their appearance in review is suppressed.

Why inclusive emails matter

A thread of 8 emails often has only one or two that carry unique content. The latest reply usually quotes everything that came before, so reading just the inclusive emails shows the whole conversation without 6 redundant copies. This is widely used in legal review under EDRM processing guidance and Sedona Conference commentary on email threading.

Hintyr offers two dedup policies for choosing what counts as inclusive: "last reply only" and "last reply plus unique content or attachments." See the Email dedup strategy page for worked examples.
