Document Viewer

Last updated: 2026-03-23

The Hintyr document viewer includes a PDF viewer, image viewer, media player, and viewers for office documents, spreadsheets, and emails. Open supported files directly inside your case to review content, flip through pages, and access redaction tools without leaving the platform.

What the document viewer does for document review

The document viewer sits in the center panel of the case interface. Click a document in the browser and it opens in the matching viewer automatically. The PDF viewer renders scrollable pages. The image viewer provides zoom and rotation. The media player handles video and audio playback, and the spreadsheet viewer displays rows and columns with sheet navigation. Everything runs in your browser, so you never need to download a file to review it.

The viewer is also where you interact with documents during review. Zoom in, rotate, flip between pages, or turn on redaction mode to mark privileged or sensitive content. When the AI agent cites a specific passage, click that citation to open the document and jump to the cited location. The toolbar adapts to the open file type and shows only the relevant controls.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need to download files to use the document viewer?
No. Supported file types render directly in your browser. The PDF viewer, image viewer, and media player all work without downloading anything to your computer.
What happens if a file type isn't supported by the document viewer?
You see a preview card with the file name, type, and a download button. From there, save the file and open it in a local application.
Can I use the document viewer while the AI agent is running?
Yes. The document viewer and the AI agent panel work independently. Keep reviewing documents in the PDF viewer, image viewer, or media player while the agent processes queries, applies tags, or handles other tasks in the background.
Does the document viewer preserve the original formatting of my files?
The PDF viewer and image viewer render files in their native format. Word and PowerPoint files are converted for in-browser display. The conversion preserves layout, fonts, and styling, though minor differences may occasionally appear in converted formats.
